This family session taken in Perdido Key was adventurous. The youngest child was full of energy. I could get a few shots of him standing still but he just wanted to play on the beach. That was fine by me! These moments are authentic and that is what parents cherish. The middle daughter started off great but I could tell she didn't want to spend too much time with posed shots. It is best to not force something they just don't want to do. She seemed to be a more contemplative child as she would walk the beach just looking out over the water. However, her playful side came out when she was just left alone to do her thing. The older child on the other was a diva and she was all about the poses. If I had an idea she wanted to shoot it. She had ideas she worked on so we shot those!
The parents were just as adventurous as their children. They would be goofy with their children during the shoot, and would run up and down the beach with them. I sometimes get the parents who want the "walking down the beach" look, but I don't get too many moms who will run along the beach with their kids! This was a family that took full advantage of the shoot and we stayed on the beach until we couldn't see!
