I had strict orders from this client that she wanted beach memories with her 11 month old grandson. We got the usual posed family shots and they turned out great. Those are good shots of preserving who the family is at that moment, but they don't really make memories. The memories come from the candid moments just playing at the beach. After the group shots and the posed shots, we moved to the waters edge and this is when I just sit back and let the family interact. This part of session is not so much posed but getting the family in situations or activities. Even when there are posed parts, sometimes the best shots come after the shutter is pressed. This is why I like to be ready for a quick camera grab to get these top of quick moments that add so much to the overall feel of a family session.
