The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is located in Gulf Shores on Hwy 59 just minutes away from the beaches. It features over 300 animals including tigers, lions, monkeys, alligators and birds. During the summer there are also interactive exhibits where visitors can get one on one time with the animals. The zoo got the nickname "The Little Zoo That Could" because it was featured on the Animal Planet.
