This family session took place in Perdido Key which is near Pensacola, Florida and Orange Beach, Alabama. The little girl didn't want to have anything to do with getting her picture taken during this session. This is one of the reason I like to have her long sessions because sometimes it takes time for the children to warm up to the idea of a portrait session. I spent some time at the beginning getting the posed shots but I could tell she was being shy. I got what I could but didn't want to push her limits. It was time to let her play in the sand! After a few moments of playing in the surf and the sand she become much more relaxed and started to enjoy herself. It shows in the photographs too. It was an overcast day which is great for the eyes and natural light. However, that can make for flat light and dull colors. I used studio lights with some special sauce to give the light more depth and added pop with colors.
