Family Photographer Serving the Turquoise Place Orange Beach

I am a family portrait photographer living in Baldwin County and serving The Turquoise Place in Orange Beach and other coastal communities along the Gulf Coast including Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Perdido Key, and Pensacola Beach. I love natural light photography and if it looks great at the time of the shoot we roll with it. However, nature doesn't always cooperate as much as we would like it to. I also use portable studio lights to add a little pop or really go for a dramatic flare. Thunderstorms during the summer are always a possibility. As long as it isn't raining or lightning those clouds in the background can make for dramatic looking backdrops.

My outdoor sessions typically start an hour before sunset. We can watch the hourly forecasts and move the time up or down depending on how the radar looks. If you have a situation where there is only one day your family is together and there isn't a makeup day, I can make it happen if the backgrounds and beach setting is secondary to having pictures of the family together. I can setup my studio lights in your condo or we can find a spot under cover around the resort.

Gulf Shores Family Beach PortraitGulf Shores Family Beach PortraitI try to make family beach sessions fun for the kids. I see so many times parents trying to force smiles that they get fake smiles that do not represent the personalty of their children. When I tell the children to do whatever they want their personalties come through. Gulf Shores Multi-Family Beach PortraitGulf Shores Multi-Family Beach PortraitThis family beach portrait was for a family reunion at a beach house in Gulf Shores Alabama near Fort Morgan. For large groups like this, especially with children involved I will take multiple pictures so I will have something to work with for the final image. For this portrait I needed three pictures to get this image that had everyone looking. This time of year the sun sets over the water so we get a little different look during family beach portraits in the Fall and Winter. Hurricane Michael created tidal pools on the beach and this creates some wonderful opportunities for some abstract portrait work. This little girl just woke up when we started the session and so was a little tired and not feeling great at the start of the session. At the end of the hour session, we had a great sky after sunset and she got her second wind!
