Sticking the Landing | Cotton Bayou-Orange Beach

April 13, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

On a recent April afternoon, I met a friend at Cotton Bayou in Orange Beach to observe the wildlife. We went to a spot that has nesting great blue herons and we were able to get a few shots of them taking care of their nests. Since we didn't move around too much, birds would fly over us. On two occasions I was able to get shots of a dove and an osprey landing on a tree branch because were were being still. I usually don't have the patience to wait around for wildlife and I usually get shots of birds flying away from me as a I walk towards them. We saw other birds that day as snowy egrets, pelicans, loons, and a house finch were active on the bayou.
