This mother-daughter portrait session was supposed to take place at Pensacola Beach, but the mom was not feeling well. The drive to Pensacola Beach is a long one for both of us so I suggested to meet in Seminole, Florida which is a halfway point for both us. I found a boat launch on Styx River and Carissa liked the idea of shooting by a river.

At first her daughter Linzie didn't act like she wanted to get her picture taken. After the first set of shots Linzie came to life and was running all over the place suggesting places to take her picture.  Sometimes we get ideas and expectations of how the portrait session is SUPPOSED to look. When a child gets this enthusiastic about a portrait session I let them do their thing because this is when their personality shines through. They are relaxed and their expressions are not forced or fake.

Since we missed the sunset at the beach, we found an open field in Elsanor,Alabama and had a quick session. Although it was overcast, we got some nice looking clouds in the background and found some dandelions to make wishes.
