A May Evening at the Gulf State Park PierIt has been a few years since I have I taken a stroll at the Gulf State Park Pier. After taking care of some business I decided to stop by on the way home. When I started my walk I was almost ran over by a little boy on his tricycle. He had never been on a pier this big so he was excited and wanted to take everything in. I mainly wanted to see how the fishing was. This evening the sharks were dominating the catches. On my brief walk one person after another snagged a shark. The "bull shark" shuffle was on the dance card tonight as anglers were being pulled all over the pier. While not as elegant as a dance, it was a well orchestrated maneuvering of fishing polls and not once did any lines get crossed or tangled. The sharks were too big to attempt a landing. The anglers got a good fight and when the sharks would make a dash out, the line would break.
