This senior was vacationing in Gulf Shores and wanted to have different looking portraits than her classmates back home so she wanted some portraits taken at the beach. She is also a dancer so we wanted to incorporate that into the shoot.

We discussed various locations and worked on the logistics of what she wanted to accomplish. Because she wanted the dancing theme at sunset we decided to shoot around the Gulf State Park in the early afternoon, and then move to a location down Fort Morgan Road for the sunset.

It was a bright afternoon so shooting in the shade provided by the pier was welcome. She decided on a more formal look with a dress and then a casual look with shorts and t-shirt.

We kept the casual theme at the other location down Fort Morgan to begin with. When it came time for the dance theme we were fortunate in one aspect because it was low tide. This provided her with sandbars that made for natural platforms. While clouds did move in and block the sun for the sunset, the backgrounds did lend to a dramatic and artistic look to finish the session and we came up with something unique that her classmates will not have for their senior portraits.
