Thanksgiving Day Beach Portraits in Gulf Shores

This multi-family beach session took place on Thanksgiving Day on the West end of Gulf Shores. Sometimes I wish the busy family beach period would be from September to November. The sun is in a different position so we get a sunset over water, and the temperature is cooler.

At the time of the session the sun was really bright. Fortunately there was a beach house casting shade on the walkway to the beach. I decided to start the session in the shade and work towards the better light which is close to sunset. When it's bright, the beach acts like a huge reflector into clients eyes which gives subjects squinty eyes. Plus we had a really young child and this just makes things tough on young ones. Once the light was a little more diffused we ended up on the beach that gave us a different look. We ended up getting a crisp looking Fall sunset at the Gulf Shores Beach!
