Posed and family group sessions are great for making photography that hangs on your wall. However, the candid shots are the ones that show the personality of your family. I go through the posed and formal pictures during each portrait session and then just let the family play at the beach. This is what you come to the beach for. It isn't fun for the kids when all they do is try to act still and make fake smiles.
