This blog features photography from a late July trip to the nesting site of brown pelicans at Gaillard Island in Mobile Bay. There were quite a few pelican chicks still on the nest. It is great to see a thriving colony of brown pelicans. Also featured in this blog are ibis, a clapper rail, and a try-colored heron.
