After all the "boring" posed family portraits were done, these siblings just wanted to play on the beach. I couldn't blame them. There were tidal pools all over the beach left over from recent storms and it was a perfect place to run. They just had to see who was fastest. I have found letting kids to do what they want on the beach makes for much better portraits than trying to force fake smiles. A side benefit is they actually don't mind doing posed portraits afterwords because all their energy is spent!
