This blog features photography from a late November morning fishing Soldiers Creek in Baldwin County. My buddy Kyle got a much earlier start than I did so I met up with him later in the morning. We had north winds which meant the wind was funneling through the creek. Our strategy was to find pockets protected from the wind. This strategy worked. While the bite wasn't hot, we both managed a few specks. The size of the trout were not big, mostly in the 13-15" range but Kyle did manage a speck around 20 inches. My bait of choice was a white paddle tail and bone colored topwater. Since it was overcast I used the topwater as a search bait throughout the morning and then threw the paddle tail once the fish were discovered.
