Originally Michele and I were going to shoot around Beinville Square in Pensacola, but it started to rain. Michele had the idea to shoot at the Wine World Wine Bar on Palafox Street as a backup plan. I have wanted to shoot around that area as well so that was fine by me. We started shooting in the covered breezeway and then ventured to the covered areas along Palafox Street.

I wanted to do something a little different so I shot with my 300 mm 2.8 for the portraits on Palafox. Using this lens wide open just melts away backgrounds. It is great for portrait work as it doesn't distort facial features. The drawback to using the lens is it is big and heavy. However, I liked the results from using the lens so I think I will probably use it more for portrait work.
