Katy is just starting her career as a Baldwin County real estate agent. Her primary area of service is Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Katy did not want a studio shoot. She wanted something outside that conveyed a bright and colorful beach day. Midday shoots at the beach are difficult just because the beach sand acts as a big reflector of sun. To solve this we shot under the Gulf State Park Pier in Gulf Shores. This way we were able be under shade at the beach but still have the beach in the background. The wind was strong that day but we managed to find areas under the pier where the breeze wasn't too bad. Her father came along for moral support. Actually his job was to make her laugh and he was also quite useful as a Voice Controlled Light Stand, or VCLS. 

Katy wasn't interested in having a bunch of portraits that looked good. She wanted one good picture that captured her personality as well as the colors of a beautiful beach day. I think with her attention to detail she will do fine in her new career.
