SEC Gameday: Florida vs Alabama 09/20/14

On Saturday, September 20, 2014, Florida played Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in a SEC matchup. Because of Bama turnovers, Florida was in the game until the third quarter but Alabama cruised to a 42-21 victory. This blog entry features scenes taken around the University of Alabama campus during game day activities.

I knew there would be color around campus as Alabama features Crimson and White and Florida Blue and Orange. What I was hoping for was a bright sunny day and the weather didn't disappoint. The colors on campus were bright and vivid.

While the colors were vivid this day, the memories of trips to Tuscaloosa were just as vivid. The gameday experience is more than a football game. It is about sharing good times with friends and retracing steps taken with dad on trips to Tuscaloosa. It is seeing the familiar landmarks on the way to the game and getting a little sad to see traditional gameday eating establishments no longer in business. Like parents marking the growth charts of their children on door casings, Alabama football has been a history marker for my family. I am sure passionate football fans feel the same way about the teams they follow too.
