On this beautiful Sunday afternoon I decided to make a trip to the Causeway and see if I could get some brown pelican photographs. I was hoping for a more active afternoon with them diving for fish but it was a lazy afternoon. Although I didn't get the action shots, it was a great opportunity to get wildlife portraits with them in a relaxed state. 

I made two stops, one near Spanish Fort and the other across from the USS Alabama. At both places they were content just soaking up the warm sun. Some did take the opportunity to prune their feathers and others looked like they were going through yoga stretches. As I left a flock of white pelicans flew over and it is always great to see these winter visitors flying overhead.
