While vacationing with her family in Gulf Shores, Emily wanted her senior portrait taken on the beaches of the Gulf Coast. A senior living in Texas, she wanted something different than what she could get back home. I was given a list of things she wanted to accomplish and it included featuring a Guy Harvey t-shirt, her involvement in color guard, a casual look, a dressy look, and possibly something involving dance all the while retaining the flavor of the Gulf Coast beaches.

That was a tall order but we managed to get all that done in just over two hours. Emily was very organized and knew what she wanted so the transition from each set was easy. We discussed before the shoot started how certain looks would look best in different situations. The Golden Hour light just before and after sunset is the most dramatic time so we decided to save the formal dress for last. The trickiest part of the project was trying to find a place where she could incorporate her dance shoes. The beaches are not great for this. However, there are walkways to the beach and this provided a great stage for her as well as retaining the classic look of our Gulf Coast beaches.
