April Sunset at Fort Morgan

I think Fort Morgan is one of the best places on the Gulf Coast to watch a sunset. At the end of Fort Morgan Road and about 20 miles West of Gulf Shores, this area is part of the Fort Morgan State Historic Site. Across the bay you can see Dauphin Island.

On this particular evening, the pelican were busy feeding off of menhaden that were schooling next to the boat launch. A snowy egret was feeding on some smaller bait fish closer to shore as a cattle egret watched from the jetties. Shrimp boats were active in the bay and anglers were fishing from the beaches hoping for a good catch.
