Riverdale in Foley | Family Portrait Session

This family session in Foley, Alabama was a long time in the making. A family this large can be difficult to get everyone together. The day of the shoot there was concern it might rain. However, it cleared right before the shoot. I think this actually added to the atmosphere of the session. It was a foggy night and the surfaces had the watery sheen like you see on film and tv shows when they shoot at night.

During the shoot the kids would tell me the pictures look like something out of the tv show Riverdale. If you don't know about the show it's a modern take on the comic series Archie. I have not seen one episode of the show but did notice the look of the shoot resembled the promo commercials I have seen. I hadn't planed on the shoot having that kind of dramatic lighting for the entire set but after getting the feedback from the family I doubled down on the look.

The session took place at Centennial Park in Foley, Alabama on the walkway over hwy 59 and at the water fountain near the clock tower.
