This session took place on the Mobile Bay side of Gulf Shores. Lauren and I wanted to do something a little different than the standard beach session so we picked this location on Fort Morgan Road. It has sand and water but has a totally different feel than a typical Gulf Shores Beach look. This was a midday shoot with a bright sun. I typically don't shoot midday for families, but for individuals it is easier to manage. You may think a bright sun would be great but it causes harsh shadows and there is no way a subject can look towards the sun for a long period of time. 

There are ways to manage the light though. When it is a bright day I use my portable studio lights and look for shaded areas. One of the benefits of shooting midday however is it puts natural highlights in hair. Lauren spent some time curling her hair so I wanted to find areas that really brought out her hair.
