This is the perfect example of why I like to have moments during a family beach session where the children can just play. This was at the end of a multifamily session in Perdido Key.  I could tell the kids were tired of the posed shots. Instead of bribing them to be good with candy or food, I think it's better to let them play. If you bribe them, they think once I take one picture the session is over. They get frustrated they don't get the candy or they are not immediately going to the ice cream shop. 

Some of the kids during this particular session naturally started playing Duck Duck Goose. When the kids get into a game, their natural personalties start to come through and they get into a much better mood. I have found that letting kids play, they become much more agreeable to more posed shots as well. Let the kids play!
