Sunset Family Beach Portraits in Fairhope, Alabama

This family session took place at the beach around the American Legion in Fairhope, Alabama on a December evening. It was a very bright evening with barely a cloud in the sky. This produced some challenges as I couldn't have the subjects looking into the sun because it was too bright. I also wanted to preserve the look of the sunset and the beautiful shoreline Fairhope is known for. I love natural light but it just wasn't possible for this session so I used my portable studio lights to balance out the exposure. The session lasted about 30 minutes. We could have stayed after sunset for natural light but the temperature was getting colder and we were all getting hungry!
