These photographs were taken on a January kayaking trip in Magnolia River. The wildlife were active this day although the fishing wasn't. I managed just one speckled trout this day. It didn't help that at least two different pods of dolphin came through the area. 

One of the highlights of the trip was seeing a red-shouldered hawk along the river. I usually see osprey and an occasional bald eagle so it was great seeing a hawk on the river. The dolphin caused quite the commotion and it attracted the attention of brown pelicans. There was a time the dolphin would swim back and forth chasing fish and the pelicans were following along. It was a great sight. Also spotted were osprey, great blue herons, turkey vultures, cormorants, and a beautiful moonrise!
