The little girl in these portraits was determined to be stoic during the family session in Perdido Key, Florida. As you can tell her older brother was getting in the moment and I had no problems getting a smile from him. He was really enjoying the portrait session. His sister was not in the mood for a shoot. When I get a child like this I don't want to force smiles. They can sometimes get defiant. With her mom behind me to get her to look in the direction of the camera, I swallowed my pride and made a fool of myself to get a natural reaction. When things settled down the last picture in the series is the winner, although the rest are great for capturing the moments.
