Mathew wanted to surprise his girlfriend Ashleigh with a beach proposal while they were staying in Gulf Shores. Although both of them live out of town, Gulf Shores has been a family vacation spot for Ashleigh since she was a child so she has a connection with the area. Mathew and I sent emails back and forth about how this would play out. He chose to have a classic walk on the beach proposal and I would be pretending to take bird and sunset pictures. Feeling like Chewbacca in Return of the Jedi, I kept my distance without looking like I was keeping my distance. After she said yes, we had a golden hour engagement session with perfect lighting.
